Audible Hype Survey 2009

This is a short, simple survey about what you think is working, and what could be improved.  I want Audible Hype to be useful to you.  The results will be shared with everyone in an upcoming post about survey design and collection.

Comments: Form Feedback + Suggested Questions

Always open for new ideas—feel free to drop them in the comments box.  The current survey design reflects some old school internets marketing experience: I didn’t use paragraph answers because open questions get a lower on-average response rate than multiple choice.  Also, I can’t graph an open question after the fact, and visualizing this data is definitely a core goal for this survey.  Although I was tempted to include a bunch of World Around marketing research here, I’m also playing a hunch that most of the Audible Hype audience doesn’t particularly care for my label’s music...you’re here for the content.

Am I right?

Please don’t change the formula but perhaps add a video podcast.

Good stuff, good mix of research and general questions. I am definitely interested to see how the answers to “Do you believe you can make a living in music in 2009?” level out.

In terms of suggestions and feedback, I am surprised that you didn’t ask your readers about schedules and frequency.  I do not blog at all, and would find it difficult to post as often as you do. Perhaps your readers expect even more, though.  Worth checking into.  Also, are there certain days they’d rather depend on new content? Sunday would work for me, that’s my free/think time.

Hell, sometimes I think this site is TOO MUCH overload.  Could just be me though, and my brainstate when I muster the time to sit through and process articles.  I would definitely suggest an audio podcast.  Usually listening to something rather than reading text and looking at pictures of bargraphs helps the thought flow process.  I listen to crazy mad podcasts though, so maybe that’s just a personal preference.  I must say that I’m pleased with this site.  Ever since it began I’ve been turning heads onto it.  This coffee’s for you, cheers.

Yeah, I dread podcasts.  It was the most requested new feature in the Audible Hype Survey.  I’ve done them before and I know how much editing is involved in doing it right, and I don’t fuck around with mediocre.  AH could easily be another full-time unpaid job.
